DogStars Professional Dog Training Program
What are the trainings methods being taught?
DogStars promotes positive reinforcement training - clicker training, lure training, praise and play rewards and all without the use of corrections - no choke chains or shock collars. Our methods create a solid foundation of training which builds the bond between owner and pet!
Are international students accepted?
Yes we are able to accept students from around the world!
What can I expect after completing the program?
You are ready to start your career as a dog trainer - either with your own business or working with DogStars. DogStars places a number of trainers in private and also group class settings - we have clientelle in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Richmond and North Vancouver.
Do you need any previous experience with animals to become an animal trainer?
There is no previous experience neccessary to take this program. Skills that you already possess will assist you in the new career ahead of you.
How old do I need to be to take the course?
Minimum age is 18 - there is no maximum - the course does require a certain level of physical fitness
What if I don't have a dog of my own?
We can provide you with one to train.
Are there any guest speakers?
Yes we have a selected some of the top people in their fields to come and talk about their work - agility instructors, pet massage, and more!
