ONLINE 1 – Husbandry Breeds and Intelligence Rankings : (2 credits – $150.00 plus 5% tax)

You will learn about basic animal husbandry check lists, where dogs came from and where they are now: Categories of breeds, Breed characteristics, Intelligence Ranking information.

ONLINE 2 – Animal Learning, Training Methods and Training Equipment : ( 4 credits $350.00 plus 5% tax)

Covering training equipment and how and when to use it. You will learn about how animals learn – classical and operant conditioning, lure training, praise and play method of training, extinction of behavior, timing of rewards, schedules of reinforcement, habituation, counter conditioning, flooding, socialization, training approach, and what to avoid doing when training any dog.

ONLINE 3 – Dog Body Language : ( 4 credits $350.00 plus 5% tax)

You will learn about how dogs communicate – Covering dog body language and the importance of noticing signs of important Calming signals and Stress signals. Temperament evaluation and assessment. Safe handling techniques and how to maintain leadership without physical dominance.

ONLINE 4 – Understanding Dog Behavior : ( 2 credits $250.00 plus 5% tax)

You will learn about how dogs play and relate to each other and humans in their surroundings. The development of dogs – from puppies to adulthood. How to re-socialize dogs with positive methods. How training methods effect behavior. Observing dog body language and the importance of noticing signs. Safe handling techniques and how to maintain leadership without physical dominance. Also covered is altering problem behaviours and preventing them from surfacing. Such as aggressive or fearful dogs, separation anxiety, barking, jumping up etc.

ONLINE 5 – The Business of Dog Training : ( 2 credits $250.00 plus 5% tax)

You will learn about how to structure a puppy group class, basic and advanced group classes and private consultations. How to communicate with clients effectively, maintain records, structure a game plan for clients that work in private settings. You will also learn to complete an intake evaluation form for clients and obtain behavioural and training history and review client goals. Legal responsibilities will be discussed as well as liability waivers and release forms. The module will cover marketing techniques and business strategies for starting a dog training business.

ONLINE 6 – Aggression in Dogs : ( 4 credits $350.00 plus 5% tax)

You will learn about the various types of dog aggression, what are the causes, how to prevent and how to rehabilitate. How to safely work with aggressive dogs and plan a course of training for clients.

ONLINE 7 – Puppies and Temperament testing : ( 2 credits – $250.00 plus 5% tax)

You will learn about how puppies need special care when training.  Create check lists, how to do a temperament test on a 7 week old puppy.  Puppy biting, chewing and housetraining also discussed.

ONLINE 8 – Basic Dog Obedience: ( 10 credits $650.00 plus 5% tax)

You will learn how to teach a dog basic commands. Why basic training is important. Hands on practical sessions where you will learn – Walking nicely on leash, heel, sit, down, come on command in 3 different versions. The focus also is to build confidence in basic training skills with any dog.

ONLINE 9 – Advanced Dog Obedience : ( 10 credits $650.00 plus 5% tax)

You will learn how to teach a dog advanced off leash and distance commands. Why advanced training is important. Hands on practical sessions where you will learn – distance commands, long leash training, off leash training and increase distractions. The focus also is to build confidence in advanced training skills with any dog.

ONLINE 10 – The Art of Clicker Training Dogs Trick/ Acting Class : ( 10 credits $900.00 plus 5% tax)

You will learn how to teach a dog film behaviours & tricks for clients! The basics of clicker training and proofing the behaviours. Create a program for your clientele to enrich their connection with their dogs. This class is extremely fun – prerequisite required of basic obedience program.
